Trekking in Pakistan

Trekking is simply defined as ‘going on a long arduous journey, typically on foot’. It is combination of hiking and walking in which people, getting away from busy urban life, take multi-days trip to mountains of ultimate natural character. The activity provides a great exposure to highland villages where inhabitants are still maintaining primitive lifestyle slightly changed since many generations. Trekking is an excellent invigorating sport for health and peace of mind. It helps to develop many qualities such as team building, co-operation and leadership, stress management, working with least available resources, environment friendly attitude, caring for others and living happily with the bare minimum that’s a tent and a rucksack with handful necessary belongings.

Concordia and K2 Basecamp Trek:

Concordia is the name for the confluence of the mighty Baltoro Glacier and the Godwin-Austen Glacier, in the heart of the Karakoram range of Pakistan. It is located in Baltistan region of Pakistan. The name was applied by European explorers, and comes from this location's similarity to a glacial confluence, also named Concordia, in the Bernese Oberland, part of the Central Alps. Around Concordia are clustered some of the highest peaks in the world. Four of the world's fourteen "eight-thousanders" are in this region, as well as a number of important lower peaks.

Gasherbrum II (also known as K4) Trek:

Gasherbrum II, also known as K4, is the 13th highest mountain in the world at 8,035 meters (26,362 ft) above sea level. It is the third-highest peak of the Gasherbrum massif, and is located in the Karakoram, on the border between Gilgit–Baltistan province, Pakistan, and Xinjiang, China. With an elevation of 8,035 meters (26,362 ft) it is the third-highest member of the Gasherbrum group, behind Gasherbrum I (8,080 meters or 26,510 feet) and Broad Peak (8,051 meters or 26,414 feet). Gasherbrum III is sometimes considered to be a sub peak of Gasherbrum II, because the former has a topographic prominence of only 461 meters (1,512 ft).
